Our mission statement at DeWitt Tree Care is to preserve native Michigan trees as often as we can. We are able to let you know what kind of trees you have and what might be wrong with them. Sometimes healthy trees can be salvaged with structural pruning or dynamic cabling. We will always give you our best advice and honest feedback to help you decide what is best for your trees!
Tree Removal
Our expert climbers and a backyard bucket lift can tackle almost any removal. We are skilled in technical rigging practices that can get your tree on the ground safely! This option includes our signature 5 star clean up (given the yard conditions allow for us to do so)
note: We will cry if you make us remove perfectly healthy White Oaks and Sugar Maples so you can grow more grass in your yard.
Tree Felling / No Clean Up
This option is pretty self explanatory. As stated this option does not include clean up and is perfect for the DIY Homeowner who wants to save a couple bucks and doesn’t mind getting sweaty. We will get the trees on the ground and then you take care of the rest.
Tree Pruning
WE LOVE TREES and have studied the best practices to prune your trees for health and aesthetics. We can also remove those massive widow makers and dead branches over your children’s sandbox.
Shrub Management / Ornamental Pruning
We provide a wide range of bush and shrub management along with delicate pruning of ornamental trees! We guarantee that at least one member of our team will spend entirely too much time making sure your hedges and small trees are pruned evenly.
Stump Removal
We are able to add stump removal services to tree removal jobs, but do not offer it as a stand alone service. We can do most stumps, but are limited to stumps that are 30” in diameter or under. We do have recommendations to accommodate large stumps upon request.
Land Clearing
Our arsenal of large equipment allow us so accommodate almost any land clearing job. Whether you’re looking to build on a forested area, or you’re looking to eliminate your hideous Boxelder orchard, Dewitt Tree Care has you covered!
TRAC / Tree Assessment
Chris is TRAC and ISA certified. He is able to perform consulting services for potentially hazardous trees and prevention plans for injury/property damage due to tree failure.
Dynamic Cabling
Another practice for maintaining mature healthy trees is our non-invasive dynamic cabling. We use a soft webbing to prevent your trees from splitting and failing. This modern practice does not open the tree up to disease and infection, and allows the tree to move freely while limiting the risk of limb failure.
Lightning Protection
our lightning protection systems use copper conductions to reduce tree damage and side flashes. Often times when lighting strikes a tree it can ‘jump’ to nearby conductive materials like downspouts or other metal objects. Any large trees within 10 feet of your home should be considered for lightning protection.
A note from the team,
At Dewitt Tree Care, our number one goal is the safety of our crew and you! Our team of ISA and TRAC certified arborists along with years of education and experience have given us 0 OSHA recorded accidents and a 5 star review status. If you are considering doing the job yourself, we highly recommend looking up “tree fails” videos on YouTube, and then giving us a call. … and please, do us a favor and put the ladder away.
FAQs
Do I need to be home for a quote?
We understand your life is busy! If you are not home for your free quote consolation we will take a lot of pictures to help us communicate your needs. A bid will usually come through later that evening.
What about lawn damage?
We do our very best to prevent lawn damage. However, depending on size and location of the work being done, tree work can be very intrusive to your property, especially if the ground is very soft or wet. We always communicate all lawn damage expectations before any work is performed!
What if it rains or snows?
The Michigan weather can be hard to predict and directly effects our work. We will continue to work in light rain, but safety is our number one concern. If it looks like the weather will not cooperate with us, we will contact you about rescheduling.
How do I get ahold of you?
Chainsaws and equipment have a tendency of being very loud. The best way to contact us is through email Dewitttreecare@gmail.com. From there, we are able to answer any questions you may have and schedule a time to get you an estimate.
Is there anything you need from the homeowner?
Safety is our number one concern, so please keep all children and pets inside and a safe distance.
We also ask that homeowners clean up anything that might be hazardous our get in our way when we come to do your job.
Also, please clean up the dog poop from your yard. It is unsanitary and we really hate getting dog poop all over our ropes and boots.
Do you clean up after yourselves?
Better than any other business out there! If you don’t believe us, take a look at our 5 star Google reviews!
